KLK OLEO is a global oleochemical producer, which has integrated complexes located strategically in Malaysia, Indonesia, China, and Europe. KLK OLEO offers an array of high quality, innovative and sustainable products and solutions. We are the manufacturing division of our parent company, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad, a leading international plantations group listed on Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad with a market capitalisation of approximately RM22.5 (USD5.5) billion at the end of September 2024.

KLK OLEO’s production portfolio ranges from basic oleochemical products, such as Fatty Acids, Glycerine, Fatty Alcohols and Fatty Esters, all the way down the spectrum to specialties, such as Methyl Ester Sulphonates (MES), Surfactants and Phytonutrients. Our products are used in diverse end-use applications, including beauty & personal care, home care, industries & institutional (I&I) cleaning, healthcare, food & nutrition, lubricants, polymers and more.

KLK Kolb

 

KLK Kolb employs several technologies such as alkoxylation, phosphation, sulphation, sulphonation, esterification, amidation, polymerization and quarternisation, also offering a broad range of chemical specialties and custom manufacturing capabilities.

Our products are formulated by customers in final products like detergents and shampoos, agricultural and construction chemicals, textile, pulp and paper products, lubricants and metal working fluids.

KLK Kolb processes natural and synthetic raw materials into high-quality products at its production sites in Switzerland and the Netherlands employing around 480 people.

KLK Tensachem

 

KLK Tensachem, based near Liège, Belgium, is a global, large scale manufacturer of anionic surfactants for the home care and personal care markets. Modern sulph(on)ation capabilities produce in liquid, paste, and powder form. The facility also features their own formulated Syndets, hot melts and offers contract manufacturing. After KLK Tensachem became part of the KLK group in 2014, it enjoys backward integration in sustainable fatty alcohols and alkoxylates, supplied by KLK Oleo and KOLB, respectively. KLK Tensachem, which now employs around 110 people, can also offer a wide range of Mass Balance products, through its RSPO certification.

LAKELAND

Lakeland Laboratories was formed in 1963 as a surfactant blending company in the North West of England, specialising in cleaning, brewery and laundry products. In the 1970's the company moved away from blended products to concentrate on speciality surfactant manufacturing.

This strategy has been continued with plant expansion and development of ranges of amphoterics, phosphate esters, imidazolines and wax emulsions.

Lakeland Laboratories traditional market serving the maintenance chemical industry still provides a major source of business. Through continual development, the company has increasingly become known as a major manufacturer of speciality surfactants into Europe and other world markets.
